One weekend my husband and I were trying to figure out something fun we could do with our 14 year-old-son. Something new and different - he mentioned to be that he had heard about a new place that just opened on I drive that sounded interesting - the Whirly Dome. I was like - what is a whirlydome? never heard of anything like that before and he said he wasn't really sure but he thought it was like a Dave N Busters. I said let's not guess and go check it out instead.
We had absolutely no idea what we were getting ourselves into. The Whirlydome is an indoor facility that has different types of games - with their own game - Whirly Ball being the main focus - what is WhirlyBall? - well it is a combination of bumper cars and jai-alai together - you need at least 4 people to play with the most of 5 per side in a single game. It is so much harder than it sounds - we did the 15 minutes and I think it took me 13 to figure out how to drive the bumper cars.
There are no age restrictions on Whirlyball - only height - must be over 54" to participate. - they have a court upstairs and downstairs
