The Rotary Club in Windermere holds the Festival Among the Lakes at Camp Down each year in May. This year they added some extra events. Saturday night Duane and I went to their "Jazz Under the Stars" event. It was $5.00 to park and you were able to bring your own chairs and coolers to have a very laid back night of Jazz music and enjoy the beautiful evening. We had such a good time and the best part of it is that there were not a ton of people there so we were able to spread out a bit and relax.
Sunday the kids, Duane and I went back for the day events of the Festival and it was a lot of fun. They had craft booths, bouncy houses, food galore (reasonably priced), student art and were having events on the main stage such as the Windermere dance team, local music, etc. They were giving all moms a free flower and their was raffles to win a boat. They also had the finals of the wakeboard tournament.
Look at for this on my blog again next year and take your family to enjoy a relaxing festival that won't break the bank. They had some really cool things for the kids to do. Each thing was 1 ticket except the rock climbing which was 3 tickets. The tickets were $1/piece or a wristband for $20.00
I really enjoy doing things with my family on the weekends. When we first moved down here and I looked up "things to do in Orlando" in google I always got the same results - Disney, Universal, Gatorland, Sea World. There is so much more to do and see in Florida that is "Unknown" to those who visit and to even those that live here. I wanted to help others find things to do with their families so that they can create memories that they could look back on for years to come.
