I asked Duane to take me out for a little date day and we ended up at the Harry P. Leu Gardens. What a beautiful place. It is open daily from 9am - 5pm and it is only $7.00/adults and $2.00/kids admission. I was blown away. All the flowers, the birds, the butterflys and the sights and sounds were just amazing. We wondered leisurely around the area just taking it all in. My favorite area of course was the butterly preserve. I look watching them flitter around and the smells of the flowers were just heavenly.
The first Monday of every month there is free admission to the gardens with the last admission stopping at 4:00. The first Friday of May and June they are having a date night movie that is played on a big screen in the gardens. The first Monday in June and August they also have storytime for the kids to enjoy.
Bring your loved one for a nice day date or bring the whole family just to explore the beauty of the gardens.
I really enjoy doing things with my family on the weekends. When we first moved down here and I looked up "things to do in Orlando" in google I always got the same results - Disney, Universal, Gatorland, Sea World. There is so much more to do and see in Florida that is "Unknown" to those who visit and to even those that live here. I wanted to help others find things to do with their families so that they can create memories that they could look back on for years to come.
